Jema has been in care for several years, spending most of that time in a group home. Before coming into care, she endured a lot of abuse and neglect, which makes it a daily struggle for her to feel wanted. Despite everything she has been through, Jema remains hopeful that she will find a family who will love her for who she is. She has an amazing personality and loves to make people smile.

Jema continues to navigate the impact of past trauma, and it can be difficult for her to put her feelings into words. Art has become a safe and comforting outlet for her, giving her a way to express what she can’t always say. A water painting board would give Jema a calming, reusable space to paint her worries away, helping her process her emotions in a gentle, creative way each time she needs it.
