Day is a fighter and a resilient young man who hopes to make something of himself one day. He is a survivor of domestic violence and is currently in foster care. Despite having a learning disability, he is doing everything he can to maintain his grades in school. One of the hardest challenges he has faced is the separation from his younger sister. The two of them were very close, but they had to be separated in order to find appropriate placements. Despite all the difficulties he has endured, Day strives to keep a positive attitude. He aspires to attend college and study engineering. He truly believes that, in the future, he will look back and see that everything he has gone through was necessary for him to achieve his destiny.

Day is feeling proud of himself as the school year comes to an end. He worked hard in his classes and did very well, and now he is looking forward to summer break. One of the first things on his list is reconnecting with his little sister, whom he has not seen in person for a couple of months. Day would love the opportunity to take his sister to the movies so they can spend quality time together, catch up, and simply enjoy each other’s company. Most importantly, he wants her to know that even though they are not living in the same home right now, he will always be her brother and will always be there for her.
