Lily entered foster care along with her two older sisters after their mother passed away unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm. As their sole caregiver, her mother's sudden loss sent the girls into a state of devastation on top of entering the foster system. Lily and one of her older sisters were placed out of state with a distant paternal relative, separating them from their oldest sister, who stayed in San Diego to finish high school. Lily loves school, is doing well in second grade, and was excited to join the junior safety patrol, enjoying her new friends both in and out of class.

Lily's family had been planning a special Disneyland trip for her older sister's birthday right before her mother passed away in May. Since moving out of state, Lily hasn't been able to see her oldest sister, and she says she cries every day thinking about how much she misses her. Lily's wish is for a Disneyland ticket so the sisters can finally spend a carefree day together and celebrate the trip they had once planned as a family.
