A new sweatshirt for Reece to feel comfortable confident and like he belongs at school
Reece, 16 years old, OR
Wish submitted by:
Foster NationReece spent a few years in the foster care system and faced his biggest challenge when he had to leave California and his family behind, losing the opportunity to visit his parents. The uncertainty of foster care was difficult, especially not knowing if he would be separated from his sisters. Through it all, Reece has held onto hope, drawing strength from sports and the support of his aunt. He believes changes should be made to make it easier for youth in foster care to return to their home states and access important resources. Reece remains focused on his future and dreams of eventually moving back to California and pursuing his goals.
Reece is just starting up his school year in a new home. Having outgrown many of his belongings, Reece finds himself cycling between the same four outfits for school. Already struggling to feel like he fits in, these limitations only make Reece feel like more of an outsider. It would mean a huge deal to Reece to get a new hoodie for school. Not only would it keep him warm and comfortable, but it would also increase his self-confidence.
