Foster NationHaving grown up in foster care, Irene chose to use her experience and talents to give back to foster youth. Irene is currently advocating for bills to be passed to change the California foster system. With her advocacy, Bill AB1512 was passed which allows survivor benefits to pass to foster youth instead of being taken unethically by counties. In addition, Irene creates wellness and gratitude journals that help foster youth with their personal development. She is working on creating a digital wellness course that helps foster youth learn how to journal.
Irene is working hard to earn her degree in homeopathic medicine. As she prepares to complete her clinical hours and start working with patients, Irene hopes to receive equipment to support her work. She would love a pack of pens that double as flashlights. These will be hugely useful for writing patient notes and double-checking her writing in dim lighting.
