Laptop for Kelis who has dreams of becoming a doctor

Kelis is asking for a laptop for many reasons. She recently had to move over an hour away from her family and old school. She would like to be able to email her old teachers to tell them how she is doing in her new school. Kelis will also need a laptop to be able to keep on top of her homework as the home she is in does not have a computer. Kelis would need to walk to the library in order to use the computer and because she has a partial paralysis this would be very difficult and painful for her. Kelis is also interested in going to college out of state, a laptop will help her research her possibilities as well as give her a head start on school supplies when she does go.
Kelis is 22 years old and lives in NJ
Kelis is a resilient teenage girl that was placed in our program just before Thanksgiving. Kelis made the hard decision to ask to live away from her family because she realized the environment was not healthy for her. Kelis has had a hard childhood and suffers from a traumatic brain injury. Kelis is able to keep her head up and look forward to the future. Kelis cares and worries very much for her siblings. She wants to go to college one day to be a doctor or a social worker because she wants to be able to help children.
