Valerie has been through a lot but she is on her way to healing and becoming a resilient adult. She has been working on a lot of healing practices with her therapist. Valerie has found reading helps calm her and is a great escape. She was hoping to pick up some new books and a journal.
Valerie is 24 years old and lives in NJ
Due to terrible circumstances, Valerie was living with a relative until this person was no longer able to care for her due to advancing illness. Fortunately, a family friend was able to step in and provide Valerie with a loving home. Although she feels cared for, Valerie still fears that her situation will change, based on her past experiences. After successfully completing summer school, Valerie is on track to graduate HS this year.
