Vida is an amazing young lady who was placed in foster care but still finds a reason to smile and help others. Vida likes to volunteer at the food pantry at her church on the weekends. Vida loves school and is a great student. She loves sports and is currently on her high school's girls basketball team. Vida has not allowed her situation to stop her finding joy in the smallest of things.

Vida is currently in a Supervised Independent Living Program and is on the brink of a significant milestone—graduating from high school. This year, she received an invitation to the Prom, an event that symbolizes joy and normalcy, which she has longed for amid her turbulent experiences. However, she faces a challenge: she lacks the financial means to purchase the dress she dreams of wearing, which she discovered online but is quite pricey. Being the first in her immediate family to graduate from high school, Prom represents more than just a dance; it’s an opportunity for Vida to create cherished memories and build a sense of belonging. This moment is crucial for her social development, allowing her to connect with her peers and receive support from caring adults who believe in her potential. Despite facing significant adversities in her young life, Vida has not let these challenges extinguish her spirit. She has worked diligently towards her goals and is determined to continue her education in college. Many have doubted her, but she remains steadfast in her belief that there are individuals who will support her unconditionally. Through her resilience and dedication, Vida continues to forge her own path, embracing the bright future ahead.
