Justin was born and raised in a city full of crime, gangs, and poverty. He was raised thinking that was the norm and that living any better was a rare exception. He got a rare brain infection, landing him in the hospital him for months that he almost didn't survive. This left a huge scar on the side of his head that he's constantly taunted about by his peers. His parents that were on the verge of splitting prior to his birth, moved to Texas for a better life, but were defeated by challenges and split soon after. Justin has some cognitive delays, and along with a lack of social insight and perception, this has made life challenging and overwhelming for him. He, unfortunately, also has been the subject of a long term custody battle that makes his life tumultuous between his mom’s, dad’s, and grandmother’s house. So, any escape from reality consumes him, such as his love for movies, Cub Scouts, video games, playing with LEGO’s, cats, family time, and most of all the great outdoors. He wants to be a veterinarian when he’s older due to his love for all animals.

There is no better feeling than being celebrated on your birthday! This wish will provide Justin with an extra surprise to open on their special day. Although their celebrations may look different this year, it will remind them that they are valued and remembered on this important occasion!
