Alvin is the first boy in his family, so he doesn't have an older brother's hand-me-downs. As a result, sweaters and jackets are hard to come by. As he grows, his clothes no longer fit him as quickly as his family can replace them. Warm layers are important for Alvin. He needs jackets and sweaters that are appropriately sized for his growing body to stay comfortable at school and outdoors.
