Isla has been in and out of foster care her whole life, her parents were both deported when she was a baby. She has no extended family, and now resides with a foster family who is able to allow Isla to stay with them after she turns 18 so she can finish high school next year. She is loving her new high school, and has said that this school is her best experience at school so far. Isabella is excited to turn 18 in October and is looking forward to senior activities at school such as graduation photos, cap & gown ordering, senior night, and planning for spring prom. She wants to go to college next year and would like to study psychology!

Isla has bounced between many different foster homes over the years and has never owned a bike of her own, so getting one soon will be a meaningful first for her. To go along with it, she's hoping for a bike lock, something that will let her keep it safe at home and, eventually, at college too. As she approaches turning 18, she won't have the opportunity to be adopted, but having landed somewhere familiar and wanted matters a great deal. A bike lock is a small thing, but it would help Isla protect something that's finally, truly hers.
