Keisha is an amazing young lady who enjoys watching television and playing board games. She loves being part of her school's marching band. She is currently being raised by her mother, a single parent, because her father does not contribute to her basic needs. Keisha's mom is battling cancer, and her work schedule is reduced, as they recently had to move in with her grandmother, who is currently living off of social security. Keisha's mom feels guilty and believes her illness is hindering her ability to support her daughter as much as she used to.

Keisha has dreamed of having her own trumpet for more than two years. She loves music and is eager to spend the summer practicing and building her skills so she can continue growing as a musician when school starts back up. Her goal is to improve enough to earn a higher position in the band and eventually learn other instruments as well. Keisha hopes to become a drum major in high school and knows that reaching that goal will take dedication, practice, and experience with multiple instruments. Having a trumpet of her own would give her the opportunity to practice regularly and take an important step toward achieving her dreams.
