Javier has shown incredible resilience in overcoming adversity since arriving in the U.S. alone. After spending time in a transitional shelter, he was finally able to reunite with his mother. Although Javier is still young, he feels compelled to mature more quickly so that he can support his mom in gratitude for everything she has done for him.

Recently, Javier and his mother have had to share a room and a small bed. His mother would love to get him a bed and mattress of his own so he can have the personal space, comfort, and privacy every child deserves. A good night's sleep is important for Javier, and because space is limited in their home, his bed also serves as a place where he does homework, reads, and enjoys drawing. Having his own bed frame would give him a comfortable space to rest, learn, and be creative. Granting this wish would show Javier that his needs and personal space are important, while giving him a place he can truly call his own.
