Jaylah is a bright and loving young lady who is finding her way through the heartbreak of losing her mother. It's a huge change for her, and she's working hard to navigate all the emotions that come with such a loss. Despite the pain, she shows incredible strength and resilience. Dancing is her happy place; it gives her a chance to express herself and take a break from the tough moments. She often thinks back on the special times they shared, especially playing board games together. Those simple yet meaningful memories bring her comfort and remind her of the love they shared.

This past weekend, our community experienced an unimaginable tragedy—a massacre that left dozens injured and shattered lives in its wake. Among the heartbreak, we mourn the loss of a mother who was taken from her three young children far too soon. In an instant, their entire world was turned upside down. These kids now face a painful reality they never saw coming, struggling to understand this loss while trying to move forward. As the new school year approaches, they have an additional weight to bear. What should be a time of excitement filled with new clothes and supplies has become a heavy burden for their father. He has suddenly found himself stepping into a role he never wanted, taking on responsibilities that were once shared, all while grappling with his own grief. He’s doing his best to comfort his children, keep their home running, and ensure their needs are met, but the challenge feels monumental. This family is essentially starting from scratch, emotionally, mentally, and financially. Any help with school clothing, supplies, household essentials, meals, or gift cards would lighten their load and allow their father to focus more on healing with his children. While nothing can replace their mom or erase the pain of their loss, the support and love from our community can remind them that they aren’t alone in this journey.
