Prominent Chapters Corp.Via grew up in a deeply religious household, but when they found the courage to come out as queer, they were met with rejection instead of acceptance. Rather than receiving the love, understanding, and protection every child deserves, Via was kicked out of their home by their mother simply for being who they are. They entered foster care and eventually aged out of the system, having spent some of their most important years without the stability, security, and unconditional love of a family. Despite the painful experiences they have endured, Via has found joy in creativity and self-expression. They love photography and attending drag shows, where they can be surrounded by people who celebrate individuality, authenticity, and the freedom to be themselves. After spending so much of their childhood feeling unwanted for who they are, Via deserves a future filled with acceptance, happiness, belonging, and the freedom to live unapologetically as themselves.
Via would love this Jamaican Black Castor Oil Co-Wash to help make caring for their natural hair easier and more manageable. Growing up in a white foster family and with a white biological mother, Via hasn’t had someone who shares their hair texture to guide them through the everyday challenges of caring for Black hair. Having the right products is an important part of keeping their curls clean, moisturized, soft, and healthy. This co-wash would give Via a gentle way to cleanse their hair without stripping away moisture, making wash days easier and helping them maintain their curls between washes. It’s a practical everyday essential that would also help Via feel supported as they learn to care for and embrace their natural hair.
