From Amber: "I am a mom of 3 boys, and I work in child welfare. My biggest dream is to become a counselor for children who have experienced trauma. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in social work as part of making that dream a reality. I experienced foster care in my teens, and ultimately ended up in the custody of a relative, as my parents were unable to care for my sisters and me. As an adult, I work hard everyday to give a purpose to my experience through serving the foster care population in my area, and also by being the best mom I can be. I love staying active and spending time with my sisters. I'm not sure I would be where I am today without their love and support. Helping others is my passion, and I hope to spend the rest of my career in a role that allows me to do that every single day."

Amber recently was hired full time as a social worker - a longtime goal of hers! Unfortunately, the pay cycles between her last check at her previous job and her first check at her new job created a longer gap than she expected, leaving her a bit short. She needs a little support to help cover food and essentials for her in the short term.
