Isla has been in and out of foster care her whole life, her parents were both deported when she was a baby. She has no extended family, and now resides with a foster family who is able to allow Isla to stay with them after she turns 18 so she can finish high school next year. She is loving her new high school, and has said that this school is her best experience at school so far. Isabella is excited to turn 18 in October and is looking forward to senior activities at school such as graduation photos, cap & gown ordering, senior night, and planning for spring prom. She wants to go to college next year and would like to study psychology!

Isla has always wanted a bike, and she knows that riding safely means having the right gear from the start, starting with a helmet. She's looking forward to getting a job soon and hopes to ride her bike to and from work, so a helmet is an important first step toward making that plan possible. As Isla approaches turning 18, she won't have the opportunity to be adopted, but small milestones like getting her first bike and the gear to ride it safely are meaningful steps as she moves into this next chapter of independence.
