Mecklenburg County Guardian ad LitemIsla has been in and out of foster care her whole life, her parents were both deported when she was a baby. She has no extended family, and now resides with a foster family who is able to allow Isla to stay with them after she turns 18 so she can finish high school next year. She is loving her new high school, and has said that this school is her best experience at school so far. Isabella is excited to turn 18 in October and is looking forward to senior activities at school such as graduation photos, cap & gown ordering, senior night, and planning for spring prom. She wants to go to college next year and would like to study psychology!
Isla is both excited and apprehensive about going to high school. She is very concerned that she will fit in and have appropriate clothes and shoes. She has outgrown her shoes and has been wearing flip-flops this summer. She needs a pair of sneakers to wear to school and these will ensure that she looks cool.
